The Boars have seen off Bathurst Bulldogs and Narromine Gorillas at home in consecutive weeks, and a win over the Wombats in Mudgee could see the two sides level on points.
Solid defence has been the hallmark of the Boars’ wins and coach Paul Moody is hopeful of another strong performance tomorrow.
“Mudgee are a tough ask at home and we have struggled there in the past,” he said.
“The willingness of everyone in the club to step up has been a major factor in the two wins and I hope that continues.
“This mindset has translated into complete efforts and a better attitude in defence.
“We will need to display it again tomorrow against the Wombats.
“They have a slick backline and we will have to starve them of quick ball.
“They are easier to defend against if we can slow down their ball, beat them to the breakdown and win the 50-50 balls.”
While the Boars have enjoyed successive wins, they are yet to prove themselves away from home this season.
“Getting numbers to the game will probably be our biggest obstacle tomorrow,” Moody added.
“Mudgee has been a graveyard for us and will be a tough ask.
“We will be missing a few key players and how we manage those at our disposal could prove very important to the result.
“Hopefully, we can get a good side on the paddock and grab another win,” he said.
The Boars will have two weeks off with a bye and a general bye and a win tomorrow would be a great boost ahead of the forced lay off.
