Parkes were always in control of the match and, if not for a number of missed opportunities, would have won by a much larger margin.
Making good use of a solid northerly wind in the first half, Parkes took advantage right from the kick off when Westside let the ball go over the dead ball line for a forced drop out.
Parkes scored from the ensuing set via a dummy half run from James Goonrey who converted his own try for 6-0 after just two minutes.
Parkes were quickly back on the attack and were rewarded in the 5th minute.
The in-form Jay Slavin crashed through the Westside defence and ran the best part of 40 metres to score with Goonery again converting for 12-0.
Growing in confidence, it was not long before Parkes were in again as Western Rams half-back Joe Dwyer put his stamp on the game.
A fantastic left foot step and 30 metre sprint to the line saw the home side out to a commanding 16-0 lead in as many minutes. Parkes continued to dominate and were rewarded just before halftime.
After two line breaks in succession, a strong run from Goonrey saw him storm over for his second try which he converted to see the junior Spacemen head to the sheds enjoying a 22-0 lead, much to the delight of coach Grant Coleman.
Parkes resumed the onslaught in the second period and quickly went out to 26-0 when Jay Slavin crashed through the Westside defence with another one of his now familiar barnstorming runs to put Joey Dwyer over for his second try.
As a cricket score looked likely, Westside lifted and scored an excellent try after a chip and chase opened their account nine minutes into the second half.
They were soon back on the attack again and some flimsy Parkes defence saw the Dubbo side score under the posts for 26-10.
With the visitors showing signs of a comeback, the young Spacemen regrouped and put on a beautiful back line move for a try to Riley Scott and a comfortable 30-10 lead after 48 minutes.
To their credit, Westside did not give up.
Their efforts resulted in a try with only minutes remaining to add some respect to the result for a final score of 30-14.
Parkes enjoyed the return of successful representative stars Joe Dwyer and Brad Gaut which has added much needed punch in both defence and attack.
There were many good performances for Parkes with Jacob Smede, Jay Slavin, Joe Dwyer, James Goonrey and Aaron Wykamp stand outs.
The young Spacemen have now won their last two outings and are in fourth position on the ladder.
A win on Sunday at home against the struggling Narromine outfit could move them into outright third.
