The offences were for Failing To Provide Proper And Sufficient Drink To Animal.
Police were called to a property on the Henry Parkes Way on Friday, March 11, after four horses were discovered dead in a paddock.
Police investigated whether the horses died of neglect and in particular, a lack of water.
Temperatures were above 35 degrees for the six days leading up to the death of the horses.
Detective Sergeant Steve Howard (Acting Crime Manager) said that the onus is on all stock owners to ensure all animals in their care are provided with food and water.
“It is an offence to not ensure stock have adequate supplies and it must be checked every 24 hours,” Detective Howard said.
“In times of hot weather, stock can consume large amounts of water and in the case of horses up to 60 litres a day.
“Water supplies can be exhausted very quickly, especially when there are several stock using the one source.
“In cases like this an oversight can lead to tragic results and loss of loved pets.”
