Local Andrea Lovell has joined the team as the new Parkes Branch Librarian.
Andrea has hit the ground running and is already working with the team on Library Week (this week, May 23-28) celebrations.
'I am looking forward to enhancing the programs being offered by the Library as well as continuing to work at raising the profile of the Parkes Shire Library within the community,” Andrea said.
For the past five years Andrea has been leading the certificate II, IV and Diploma Library Information Services courses at TAFE Western Connect.
Before that she was Librarian at Parkes Christian School.
Andrea brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to Parkes Shire Council including advanced technology skills, mentoring and expertise in the day to day running of a library.
Manager Cultural, Education & Library Services Shellie Buckle is excited about Andrea's appointment.
“Andrea is very passionate about lifelong learning and sharing that passion with others,” Shellie said.
“She brings not only her extensive library knowledge and experience to the Library Service, but also her creativity and drive for innovative programs and services.”
Library Week is the perfect time to come and meet Andrea.
