Some 350 runners took part in the Northparkes Rotary Fun Run on Sunday, in perfect conditions.
Most pleasing was the number of kids, with all local primary schools entering multiple teams.
Newly announced Olympian, Scott Westcott - who organised the event - tested out the five kilometres course and finished in 15:10:50 - almost 10 minutes in front of the second placed male runner.
Australian triathlete, Jane Fardell also ran the course, pushing Scott much of the way before finishing in 18:32:88.
Steve Luscombe certainly did not need any extra exercise, but was a surprise participator.
With his dog Milo, Steve is walking to the Cape and across to the Kimberley for AMAZE which is a Victorian Charity supporting autism.
Steve and Milo walked the 5km course with the Mayor Ken Keith (more details of Steve’s epic journey in Friday’s edition).
