The elusive fullback played 257 NRL matches, scoring 117 tries, and is a great pick up for the Roosters Woodbridge Cup campaign.
Peachey fills a number of ambassadorial roles for the NRL including being on the Rugby League Indigenous Council and being heavily involved in Voice Against Violence - the NRL’s anti-domestic violence campaign - but will be available for most of the Roosters matches.
The announcement of the high profile former NRL star signing for Peak Hill was met with enthusiasm amongst the Roosters faithful.
Club stalwart Bruce Morgan could not be happier with the new recruit.
“It is very exciting for our club to sign someone of the calibre of David Peachey,” Morgan said.
“He is already in training and will provide invaluable experience to our squad.
“David will be great for our younger players and will be excellent at fullback.
“From there he will be able to direct the play and see the areas we need to work on.
“When the chance arrived to sign him, we jumped at the chance.
“His signing will not only benefit the club this year, but help develop our younger players for the future.
“He is already having a massive impact on the club which is fantastic.
“It really is a very exciting time for the club,” he said.
Peachey was in action for Dubbo Westside in Group XI last season, but became the Roosters gain when the Rabbitohs interest in re-signing him cooled.
