About 100 people a day are visiting the new micro cinema at Forbes Services Memorial Club.
The club’s general manager David Fitzgerald said the response had been “extremely, extremely, extremely good” since the doors opened on Boxing Day.
“(Numbers) are starting to build,” he said. “People are still becoming aware that it (the cinema) exists.”
The club’s new micro cinema is a fully equipped cinema that seats 44 people including disabled access.
It has the latest in digital projection and surround sound technology as well as comfortable cinema seating.
The club has access to the latest Hollywood blockbusters through a new partnership with Melbourne business Club Movie.
The company screens the films from a remote location using broadband internet services and handles all the management, scheduling, licensing and other tasks that larger cinemas deal with.
Local movie-goers have been impressed.
“I love going up to the door when the movies are finishing and people are coming out - I love the expressions on people’s faces,” Mr Fitzgerald said.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Good Dinosaur are coming from January 7.
Cinema schedules are available at the club or follow them on Facebook to stay up-to-date.
“At the moment we are updating our Facebook about every. half hour to keep up with all the questions people have,” Mr Fitzgerald said
