The couple's first child arrived on Friday, weighing 3.9kg (8 pounds 9 ounces).
Ms Bartel, whose blog Chronicles of Nadia recently contained several posts about her baby shower and "dressing for your baby bump", maintained a busy schedule right up until shortly before the birth.
She was a fixture at the Birdcage at Flemington during the Spring Racing Carnival, turning heads in a figure-hugging lilac dress with small cutouts by Australian designer Dion Lee at the Myer marquee on Cup Day.
Bartel has played 283 games for Geelong.
