Anne Hathaway, that most loved-but-hated-but-loved of Hollywood stars, is apparently pregnant with her first child and the internet, predictably, can't get enough.

With admirable confidence, celebrity gossip network E! quoted two unnamed sources saying the actress, who recently turned 33 and admitted to being cyber bullied after winning an academy award in 2014, "is preparing for the role of a lifetime: motherhood!" with her husband, Adam Shulman.

"Anne is in her second trimester and feeling great!" one source gushed to E! News, which then breathlessly told readers, before every second celebrity news outlet rushed to repeat the news verbatim.

Let's not forget that E! has been here before. In January 2013, then E! News host Giuliana Rancic spread a rumour from the Golden Globes red carpet that Hathaway was pregnant.

The Les Miserables Oscar winner married Shulman in 2012, after four years of dating, and she's been expressing a desire to have a baby since shortly after they tied the knot.

"I'd like to have a few naturally and adopt," she told the Telegraph in December 2012. "I gotta get on it, you know? I'd like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special."

Neither Hathaway nor Shulman - nor any official spokespeople - have confirmed the rumour, but E! says Hathaway was sporting a baby bump that could not lie while out and about with her hubby in Beverly Hills this week.
