The students and staff of Middleton Public School have been working through Personal Development units on respect, anti-bullying and stopping violence against others, especially women.

They have learnt about being the “Up-stander” against those who wish to bully and hurt others.
The students know the four actions they can take against a bully:
* be a buddy to the one bullied,
* interrupt and safely move that person away from the bully,
* speak out and say you don’t like what the bully is doing and
* go and to tell an adult or teacher about it.
Last Wednesday, Middleton students and staff recognised White Ribbon Day by taking the White Ribbon oath, wearing White Ribbon tattoos, marching to Cooke Park for the community event, and by creating a large white ribbon (above) on their back playground to show their support.
The school wishes to thank the Parkes Shire Council for assisting in the marking out of the white ribbon.
