A new record was set with 60 teams competing in the two day event.
Players from the north coast, Sydney, Bathurst, Canberra, Orange, Dubbo, Moree, Leeton, Dunedoo, Forbes and surrounds attended, as well as many local teams.
More than 120 games of squash were played with some top players in action.
Parkes Services Club were the major sponsor with David Bickett Accounting, All Settlers Motel, Parkes Mensland also providing support.
Squash related companies Head, Karakal and Salming also provided prizes for the event.
In the Open Mens Division, local pairing Jay Kross and Geoff Wyatt went up against former local Mick Lindsay and Bathurst’s Daniel Pollard.
Daniel and Mick just got over the line in a hard fought five setter to get the cash 15-11, 15-12, 13-15, 13-15, 15-9.
The Mixed Open final saw Bathurst couple Daniel and Alisha Pollard take the win in another five set marathon over local Zoe Hood and Forbes’ Darryn Piper 10-15, 15-14, 11-15, 15-8, 15-5.
The Womens Open final saw local pairing Maggie Thompson and Zoe Hood battle it out with another local in Kristen Nightingale and Sydney’s Ellen Benacquista.
Maggie and Zoe fought hard through five sets to take the win 9-15, 15-7, 15-14, 8-15, 15-14.
In the A grade mens division, Leeton’s Scott Quinlivin and Forbes/Dubbo pairing Regan Acret and Aaron Moulds met.
Regan and Aaron played well to win the final in four games 15-10, 15-9, 12-15, 15-11.
The womens A grade final went to Parkes pairing Nicole Tolhurst and Jane Swindle.
They had a good win in four over Forbes sisters Izzy and Alex Cowhan 15-9, 15-10, 13-15, 15-6.
Mixed A grade went to Leeton’s Sarah Quinlivin and Danny Boardman over Canberra’s Matt Blow and Barb Murphy. Sarah and Danny took the win in four games 15-10, 10-15, 15-7, 15-10.
The B grade womens final was a marathon five set battle between Dunedoo pairing Annie and Georgie Lane over Leeton’s Claire Quinlivin and Renee Trounce.
Georgie and Annie scored a good win 15-11, 13-15, 10-15, 15-9, 15-12.
Mens B grade saw Orange’s Ryan Bushel-Keegan and Sydney’s Preston Schreiber take on local pairing Jake Hennock and Tim Hogan.
In another final that went down to the wire with Ryan and Preston taking the win 12-15, 15-14, 14-15, 15-10, 15-9.
The Mixed B final went to Bathurst pair Loretta McLean and Jamie McIntosh over local team Shelby Hinde and Damien Baxter.
The best dressed award went to locals Phil Cole and Campbell Earsman.
Not only did they make the semi-finals, they managed to play every game all weekend in wigs and crocodile hunter attire.
Phil even managed to play a few points with a stuffed crocodile strapped to his racquet.
