The girls joined the organisation in 2014 when their mother, Lynne was diagnosed with Metastatic Thyroid Cancer.
“Since joining, we have attended camps, recreation days and been provided with numerous resources such as counselling and peer support,” Beck said.
“CanTeen has been a great support network for both of us; it has helped us overcome many challenging times since our mother was diagnosed.”
CanTeen relies heavily on donations and support from individuals, especially during the month of October and on National Bandanna Day.
After the success of their Tea-riffic Tea Party in 2014, the girls decided to host another one.
The tea party attracted 63 members of the Parkes community and raised more than $1,500.
This figure was then boosted by $1,661.20 worth of donations online.
The tea party offered many ways for people to donate, from a pre-loved book stall, raffle, 100 club, lolly competitions and of course afternoon tea.
The girls also sold Bandanna Day merchandise.
In fact they sold all of their bandannas and pens - raising another $550 for the organisation.
“We were lucky to have the support of the local community,” Lou said.
“A big thank-you to Marcelle at Parkes Patchwork for donating the major prize in our raffle.
“Thanks also to Parkes Newsagency, Onnies Cafe, The Sugar Mill and Bears with Guns for their donations to our raffle.
“We would also like to thank the local schools and businesses who got behind Bandanna Day.
“It was amazing to see so many people from the community wearing a bandanna in support of so many young people who are dealing with cancer.”
Beck said all money raised will go towards CanTeen members and enable them to receive counselling or attend a camp.
“It doesn’t cost anything to be a member, so this is why donations are so important.
“Finally, thank-you to everyone who supported our Tea Party fundraiser, and also the local businesses and school who supported National Bandanna Day.
“Your donation may not seem like much to you, but to members like us it means the world.
“No young person should have to face cancer alone, and with the support of our community, we are making sure CanTeen is always there for young people,” Beck said.
