Nursing Head Teacher Debbie Greenhalgh said there was not only strong demand for Aged Care students at TAFE Western, the organisation is also on the look-out for Aged Care teachers.
“Australia’s population is ageing and many Aged Care facilities are increasing bed numbers to prepare for increased demand, opening up many avenues for those interested in Aged Care,” Mrs Greenhalgh said.
“TAFE Western is keen to meet the increasing demand for Aged Care training locally, nationally and internationally using the latest technologies available.
“We’re not only putting out the call for those interested in studying Aged Care in 2016 – but we are also interested in recruiting experienced workers who know the industry and are passionate about sharing their expertise and knowledge.”
Mrs Greenhalgh said TAFE Western offers part-time and casual work, ideal for those who already have work commitments.
“TAFE Western offers excellent remuneration and flexible working arrangements; teachers can choose to work as little or as much as they want based on demand, and we’re happy to work that around other commitments,” she said.
“The simulation technologies we use to train students are first-class. The course is nationally recognised and it’s very satisfying being able to help people study Aged Care knowing they will have great employment opportunities once their study is finished.”
TAFE Western will hold a special Aged Care teaching recruitment drive on December 1 at Bathurst College (A Block), Orange’s March Street College (E Block) and Dubbo’s Fitzroy College (F Block) from 12-3pm.
Those interested in meeting TAFE Western’s staff, touring the Aged Care training facilities and finding out about these fantastic opportunities are encouraged to attend.
