If the Parkes Spacemen are to win this Sunday’s Group XI grand final, they will likely have to do it without two of their younger stars.

Both Sam Dwyer and Hayden Robinson are unlikely to be fit in time for the decider in Dubbo after suffering major injuries.
Robinson returned from a neck injury in the major semi-final against CYMS two weeks ago, only to suffer what looks likely to be a season ending shoulder injury.
Ironically, Dwyer was injured in the same match.
Arguably the best fullback in the competition this year, Dwyer suffered a fractured hand in an attempt to prevent a CYMS try.
The break was bad enough to require surgery and will probably prevent the custodian from competing this weekend.
“It is highly unlikely I will be right to play,” Dwyer said.
“I will go to the fracture clinic on Friday and see what they say.
“I need to get the half-cast off and see what the movement in my hand is like.
“It does not look promising at this stage, but I will wait and see.
“Coach Dennis Moran is giving me every chance to take my spot,” he said.
While disappointed he may miss Sunday’s grand final, Dwyer is happy with his performance this season.
“It has been lots of fun playing footy each week with my mates,” he said.
“I’m pretty happy with how I have gone this season.
“We all worked hard in the offseason and that has shown by making the grand final.
“I didn’t really think about how many tries I would score this year, but to get 21 is pleasing.”
Jesse Parker filled the fullback role last Sunday and, according to Dwyer, is the ideal replacement if he is unfit this weekend.
“Jesse has loads of talent,” Dwyer said.
“He has all the tools to be successful in the top grade.
“I have spoken to him to offer some help where I can, but he played very well last week and will again if required on Sunday.
“I have the utmost confidence in all the boys.
“We showed what we can do in the first half against Wellington last week.
“If we put that together for 80 minutes, there isn’t a team in the comp who can match us,” he said.
