Space Cats captain-coach Hannah Kelly made the decisive bust to run in the match winning try.
A scoreless first half was anything but dull with both sides creating chances to score.
However, the defence was top class and held tight.
Parkes scored a good try early in the second half before the Tigresses converted two penalty goals to level the scores at 4-all.
Kelly made a number of breaks early in the contest while Sarah McAneney went within metres of opening the scoring.
The opening try did not come until Natalie Gardiner crossed seven minutes into the second stanza, showing good speed to run 55 metres after changing direction a number of times.
The conversion was missed for 4-0.
Nyngan kicked two goals in five minutes to level the scores.
Parkes looked to be on their way to a match winning try with two minutes remaining.
A great attacking move looked set to pay dividends before the referee called it back.
It took a moment of brilliance from Kelly to get her side over the line and into the decider this Sunday.
She was the standout performer for the Space Cats and was well supported by Natalie Gardiner and Claire Barber.
The Space Cats meet the undefeated Dubbo Westside ladies at Caltex Park, Dubbo, from 10am.
