Ms Kaniz Fatema undertook the oath and pledged her loyalty to Australia surrounded by her husband Azim, and two children, Kaashif (seven months) and Yamin (2).
Parkes Shire Council Mayor Cr Ken Keith OAM and General Manager Kent Boyd were also present to witness the oath.
“It is always a pleasure to conduct citizenships for our residents,” Mayor Keith said.
“Council conducts approximately 20 citizenships per year.
“This is a testament to our welcoming and inclusive community.”
Ms Fatema has been living in Australia since 2010 after immigrating from Bangladesh, and has been living in Parkes since 2014.
A stay at home mum, Kaniz enjoys spending time with her friends and family and travelling to new places when the opportunity arises.
