Looking to lay a foundation to build upon for next season, Parkes Boars first grade side needs little more motivation than the chance to beat Forbes on their home turf.

The Boars head into tomorrow’s match against the Platypi with two strong performances behind them in their last two matches.
After drubbing CSU in Bathurst, the Boars put in a strong effort against Dubbo Roos last Saturday to make the defending premiers work for every point.
While they are unable to make the semi-finals this season, the Boars can guarantee they finish above the Platypi with a win tomorrow to retain twin town bragging rights.
Boars coach Paul Moody believes his side has what it takes to win.
“We are a big chance against Forbes,” Moody said.
“If the boys can take the same attitude out onto the field that they had against Dubbo last Saturday, it will go a long way towards getting what is an important win for us.
“Last week was probably one of our better performances.
“We just switched off a couple of times in defence and they made us pay.
“Against good sides like Dubbo, you can’t afford to do that.
“Most importantly, the effort was there from our boys and if it is there again tomorrow, we will be in with a chance,” he said.
The Boars return to full strength as they welcome back star back Riley Byrne and powerhouse forward Sam Denison.
“Sam’s return is very important for us as we will need to match it with the big Forbes forward pack,” Moody added.
“If we can hold them in the forwards, our backs have the skill to get around them and dominate.
“They will be hurting from a big loss last Saturday to Emus and will want to perform well in front of their home crowd.
“We will need to produce a big effort for the full 80 minutes to get over the top of them.
“Hopefully we have a large crowd of our own supporters to help us get the points,” he said.
