Sunday afternoon pacing a hit with punters

July 8 2015 - 4:00am
The Parkes Harness Racing Club hosted a number of the Parkes Spacemen Rugby League Football Club players at it race meeting last Sunday afternoon. It was fitting that the Red and Blue colours worn by Steve Turnbull were successful as this is the stripe of the Parkes Spacemen and Parkes community including the harness racing club. Steve drove his usual good race, parking off the speed and bring his pacer, Written In Style home with a well timed run. Pictured with Steve Turnbull after the event are from left - Sam Coburn, Aubrey Milson, Joe Dwyer, Michael Mitchell, Brad Davis, Sam Dwyer, Jordan Pope and captain-coach Dennis Moran. sub

Monique Parsons was the pin-up girl at the Parkes Harness Racing Club's TAB meeting last Sunday afternoon after she landed a Hurrysound home first in the Parkes Farm Centre Pace at the big odds of $34. Despite the big odds Parsons before the event was very open in tipping the horse to all and sundry and rated him to perfection in front. She is pictured being interviewed by Michael Dumesny. sub
