Powter, along with his partner Justin Sutton, starred by taking out the major event after combining brilliantly to accumulate 78 points.
They were clear two shot winners over Andrew Vincent and Paul Morgan.
The victory also secured the pair the Ian Pinniger Memorial Trophy.
Powter's superb 42 individual points has all but ensured his place in the annual Pybar Handicap Challenge final which will be held later in the year.
With players also contesting the first of five rounds of the Handiskins Championship, Powter's task of reaching the final on August 30 has been made a lot easier as he only has to record a further two solid rounds to see him in the battle for the $1200 worth of vouchers.
The Handiskins Championship final will be contested by the leading four players whose best three rounds are the highest from the excellent field who are contesting the event.
Another of the special events on Saturday was the Funniest Dressed award.
This was won conclusively by two of the club's most popular members Brian Hogan and Bernard McCabe.
Hogan and McCabe also snared the Bradman award.
Powter congratulated the team at Parkes Cellars for their commitment to the club and stated that the event was and is one of the most popular on the Golf Club’s calendar.
In other events from Saturday’s great day, victory by Michael Lynch on 39 points on a countback in the individual event forced Richard Hamilton into the runner-up position.
Michael Lennox’s tee shot on the 8th fairway claimed the Long Drive award for the men.
Ball winners went to 74 Robert Lea and Richard Hamilton, 71 Ryan Thornberry and Steve Kilminster, and Vince Kelly and Steve Simpson, 70 Ben McNaughton and Mitchell McGlashan, 69 Adam Ferguson and Chris Reynolds, and John Green and Peter Dixon.
Saturday’s nearest the pin awards went to Glen Buesnell at 415cm on the Idlerite Tyrepower 1st hole.
Steve Lee parred the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole after finishing 447cm from the pin while Justin Sutton birdied the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole from 261cm.
Chris Goodie recorded a birdie two after finishing 157cm away on the Harvey Norman 11th hole.
On the final par three, new member Steve Kilminster stole the show as he nailed his tee shot on the difficult Westlime sponsored 15th hole.
Junior golfer James Ward and Wayne Tucker both enjoyed bragging rights after their second shots to the Parkes Ready Mixed Concrete 9th hole and the Parkes Heavy Mechanical Repairs 18th hole, finished at 225cm and 142cm from the holes respectively.
