Round 4 matches will now be played on Tuesday, June 16, with the BBQ and presentations to follow.
Last Sunday provided a glorious day at Forbes for their Medibank Junior Development Series tournament and a good contingent from Parkes travelled across.
A highlight of the day was the Under 9s on the front court.
These players which included Parkes representatives Molly Kennedy, Danilo Bottaro-Porter and Thomas Burkitt kept the crowd entertained with their skills and court craft on the Orange Stage Hot Shots court.
All three players from Parkes were excellent ambassadors, showing beaut sportsmanship win or lose and are looking forward to their next Medibank competition.
The 11s included Charlie Strudwick and Maddie McCormick who are continuing to work hard at their training and improving each week.
Maddie is a real work horse and gives 110% at every squad session in fitness and drills, which is showing in her matches.
Maddie finished with semi-final points on Sunday.
Abbey Kennedy was a little inconsistent but tried her best to finish in third place and gain valuable semi-final points while Holly McColl won the event after defeating Abbey on a tiebreaker.
Holly has been working hard on her serving and is starting to gain the rewards for her effort.
Jay Arrow competed in the Under 11 boys and finished in third place while Ryan Mackenzie and Yuan Rivera were fairly pleased with their efforts in the 13s event where they came up against some stiff opposition from Bathurst and Penrith.
Laura Kirk, Lucin Sarkissian, Marites Woods, Makayla Strudwick and Georgia Sideris all played in the 13s.
Georgia and Tess made it through to the playoffs and went down to opponents from Hawkesbury and Blayney.
Maticka Brown continues to give her best in the 15s and improved her play as the day went on. The skills shown by some of the 15s is of a considerable level and Maticka is doing well to rally with these girls.
Brenden Weekes and Jake Magill competed in the 17s and had a good hit out during the day. There were five boys contesting Open standard which made the tennis interesting.
Jake was too good for the other boys but had plenty to work on during his matches and it was enjoyable to see him serve and volley and move forward a lot more than usual.
Brenden finished in third place.
It was nice to see him show some of his sizzling skill on court.
The next Medibank Tournament will be Blayney on June 14, followed by Mudgee on June 21, and Grenfell on July 19.
TOTTENHAM
TOURNAMENT
The final notes will be handed out this week for the Tottenham tournament which is on June 27 and 28.
All the girls and boys who have been invited are very excited about their two day tennis trip.
Most of the juniors have been before and can not wait to get out to Tottenham and enjoy their tennis and socialising for the weekend.
