Parkes Boars Colts were hampered by a lack of player numbers when they travelled to Bathurst to take on the Bulldogs last Saturday.

The young Boars started the match with only 12 players and were down to 11 in the second half,
trailing 35-7 at the break.
The home side went on with the job to claim a strong 53-7 victory.
Parkes nearly opened the scoring in the third minute after winning a scrum against the feed before being awarded a penalty.
The shot skimmed the posts and a minute later the Bulldogs were in under the posts for a 7-0 lead.
The Boars nearly hit back after a Riley Byrne tackle caused a Bathurst handling error.
Parkes controlled the ball and looked set to score, only to be held up over the line.
Bathurst stole possession and crossed out wide for their second try and the home side were in complete control when they scored from a rolling maul.
The Boars hit back when Byrne brushed off the defence to score in the corner.
Toby Tanks was on target with the conversion to reduce the margin to 21-7.
Bathurst continued to make use of their numbers advantage and crossed twice more to lead 35-7 at the break.
With only 11 players in the second half, it was always going to be an uphill battle for the Boars.
They produced a very solid defensive effort to hold Bathurst to only three more converted tries for a final score of 53-7.
Iszac Oliver and Jason Lowe were joint winners of the Player’s Player award while Best and Fairest points went to Jimmy Peters (3), Toby Tanks (2), and Scott Chislett (1).
This weekend Boars face Orange Emus in their first home game of the season.

SECOND GRADE
Parkes Boars mighty seconds ran on with a number of new faces in the team as well as a couple of welcome previous players.
Callum Drysdale, Joe Van Opynen and Jade Newham all dusted off their boots and made the long trip to Bathurst.
Luke Freeman and Marika Koroivui used the game to warm up to the main event, but even these experienced players could not contain the Bathurst onslaught.
Bathurst went into the break 26-0 up despite the efforts of Ricky Martin and Evan Doering making huge defensive efforts.
Anthony Stewart worked well in the centres while Al Gersbach encouraged his team to keep the pressure on the attack, forcing several handling errors from Bathurst.
Bathurst had too much depth in their team and demonstrated more disciplined play to run out 50-5 winners.
Boars’ Player’s Player and three Best and Fairest points went to Callum Drysdale, with two points going to Dennis Webb and Evan Doering awarded a point.
Next week the seconds play Orange Emus at home with kick off at 1:50pm.
