Dennis Moran’s outfit scored nine tries to led throughout to further improve their imposing record on the traditional graveyard of most Group XI clubs.
With both sides clearly focused on attack, the contest produced points at a rate of one a minute and was played in terrific spirit.
Goal kicking was also a feature of the match with Moran and Lewis Stanley landing 12 goals from 14 attempts in cold, blustery conditions.
Indeed, the mercurial Moran booted eight goals, including four from the sideline to add to the opening try for a significant 20 point contribution.
Moran orchestrated proceedings from the outset, and at the tender age of 37, he remains one of the most potent weapons in country footy.
Two try performers Sam Dwyer and Michael Mitchell also impressed, and Brandon Tago and Epi Sadrodro were conspicuous throughout.
Moran praised his charges for their individual contributions, but was concerned that his side leaked five tries, including one on the bell.
Still, the signs remain extremely positive that the Spacemen of 2015 will be there when the whips crack in early September.
The two earlier grades produced keen contests with honors even.
Parkes reserves overcame an 8-4 deficit at oranges to win handsomely 24-8, but Parkes juniors succumbed 28-22 in a match they could easily have won.
The first half of the main game produced seven tries, the first two to the Spacemen, who led 22-18 at the break.
Converted tries by Moran after eight minutes and then inform custodian Dwyer three minutes later established a handy 12-0 early buffer for the visitors.
Not surprisingly, the home side responded when prop Everson plunged over for Stanley to convert.
In the 20th minute, winger Brandon Paige outleapt the Cowboys outside backs for a good try that extended the Spacemen advantage to 18-6.
yet again the Cowboys response was swift and profound, five-eighth West scoring in the 29th minute for 18-12.
Former Lake Cargelligo centre Michael Mitchell posted the Spacemen’s fourth try out wide for 22-12, but Bayden Peachey revived the Cowboy’s fortunes with a late try to reduce the margin to just four points despite Parkes having the better of play.
Upon the resumption of hostilities, the teams exchanged tries by Dave Masoe for Parkes and a second for Peachey for the Spacemen to lead 28-22.
The next half hour however belonged to the Spacemen with four unanswered and converted tries increasing the margin to a convincing 52-22.
The non-stop Epi Sadrodro ducked over for a customary try and Dwyer bagged his second to put the result beyond doubt at 40-22.
The talented Jack Medlyn came off the bench for a deserved try in much the same steamrolling manner as his premiership winning father Wayne and Mitchell capped a good centre’s performance with his second.
To their credit, the Cowboys scored on the bell but few would deny the Spacemen a comprehensive and deserved success.
The victory sets the scene for an epic Anzac Day clash this Saturday on Pioneer Oval against the vastly improved Westside Rabbitohs.
