Ellen Dolbel and Molly Kennedy played in the 9 and Under non-competitive division on the orange court and had a great day meeting some new friends from other towns across the region.
Both girls improved their serving and racquet control throughout the day.
Charlie Strudwick, Maddie McCormick, Abbey Kennedy and Olivia Dolbel fought hard against all comers in the 11 and Under division.
All four girls improved after some nervous starts.
Maddie McCormick is proving a tough opponent and went to a tiebreaker with the eventual winner which was a superb effort.
Maddie finished in fourth place overall.
Charlie and Olivia were working hard in the early windy conditions but by the afternoon session they had hit their straps and worked out if they could get the ball deeper in the court they had more success.
Abbey Kennedy continues to be a determined competitor and displayed excellent sportsmanship on court during her matches.
Abbey lost one match in a tiebreaker and finished a well deserved runner-up.
Great to see Mitch Cox and Michael Riley travel to Dubbo for their first MJDS event.
These boys are in the Parkes Public School tennis team and found the day a valuable experience before heading into their next round of school tennis in the coming weeks.
Marites Woods also made the trip to gain some match practice while Georgia Sideris is now a seasoned campaigner.
Makayla was Parkes third representative in the 13s and had a fantastic day of matches.
She was very pleased with herself when she scored two well deserved wins.
Marites and Georgia both made the quarter-final play-off section where they tried hard but lost their matches.
Maticka Brown contested the 15s age division and had four tough matches.
Maticka is working on her serving and consistency and will continue to make improvements as her time on court increases.
The next MJDS series event will be at Blayney on April 26 followed by Forbes on May 17.
