Ellie started potting plants several years ago to help raise funds for Can Assist.
Her tireless efforts have resulted in more than $17,000 being raised.
So when she was notified of “this most generous” donation from Seasol, she rushed to tell Parkes Can Assist Branch Vice-President, Karen Swindle.
Seasol had donated to Ellie two 20 litre drums of Seasol, 400 samples of Seasol and two Seasol hampers to be raffled.
The donation is valued at nearly $500.
“I was overwhelmed by this most generous donation,” Ellie said.
“I use the Seasol to fertilise and care for the plants we sell to raise money for Can Assist and to ensure the plants are healthy, thriving and long lasting.”
Ellie sells the plants from her home in Military Road.
Last year Ellie and her plants raised more than $17,000 for Can Assist to help local families affected by cancer.
“I wish to publicly thank Seasol for their wonderful support over the past few years,” Ellie said.
“I would also like to thank the people of Parkes for purchasing my plants in support of Can Assist.
“Even though January and February have been hot and dry, the plants have been selling very well and are in great condition - and that’s thanks to Seasol.”
The Parkes Branch of Can Assist would like to thank Ellie for all her hard work raising, caring and selling the plants, and also thank Seasol for their ongoing donations.
