This is because, as I understand it, the Parkes Shire Council is going to remove trees during this closure in Baker Street but have not informed the public of their intentions to do so.
These trees were planted and cared for over 60 years ago by the local residents of the Middleton area.
This matter has already been on Parkes Shire Council’s agenda several times over the past two years.
Council has already removed half of these trees and previously stated they would leave the remaining trees in Baker Street, as well as plant three trees for every one tree removed.
Well, this has not happened.
What do other residents think?
Please write to Parkes Shire councillors and let them know your thoughts on the above.
Rosanne Jones,
Parkes.
