Over the weekend comic enthusiasts, artists, writers and fans mingled with creators of comics who came from Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong.
‘Artist Alley’ provided opportunities for one on one conversations, while workshops given by the artists shared skills, knowledge and experience.
The artists thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.
“A very quick thank you to the community of Parkes for inviting me to be part of the Central West Comics Fest! I had a great time!” Matt Lin said.
Julie Ditrich had a wonderful time.
“I loved how people inside and outside the library pitched in and helped and opened their minds to comics,” she said.
“The Parkes peeps were just the best. I have never been in a friendlier place.
“Thank you for inviting me as a speaker. I will gladly return if invited."
Families also enjoyed the opportunity to ‘dress up’.
Spot prizes where given out for those that excelled in the costume play.
Manager Cultural, Education & Library Services, Shellie Buckle, was very pleased with the event.
“The purpose of the festival was achieved. People who attended the weekend left inspired,” Shellie said.
“The Parkes community now knows more about comic drawing, writing and storytelling,”
“All those involved this year hope that 2016 will again see Parkes host the only comics event west of the Blue Mountains.”
