The men described as having an Asian appearance and aged between 25 and 40 robbed a 55-year-old owner of a wholesale jewellery company in the Westfield Hurstville car park.

At 3.30pm on Tuesday, the owner arrived at Westfield Hurstville to see a client at the shopping centre and parked his car in the centre's parking lot.

He was carrying a large suitcase containing jewellery rings, pendants, bracelets and necklaces imported from Italy with a wholesale value of about $100,000.

When he was walking back to his car from his meeting with the suitcase still full of jewellery, he noticed a woman had followed him from the centre.

He also noticed a silver Mitsubishi Magna double-parked on the same level as his car. It was not in a car park bay.

Police said the there were two children in the back seat of the Magna and a man of Asian appearance was in the driver seat.

Police said the images from CCTV showed the woman had olive skin and loosely-tied dark brown hair. She was wearing a black t-shirt, blue denim jeans and a blue scarf.

Just before he reached his car, the owner heard yelling behind him. He turned and saw two men running towards him.

He told the police one of the men punched his left arm and cut him causing him to drop the suitcase.

The other man grabbed the suitcase and jumped into the Magna.

St George crime manager, Detective Inspector Paul Simpkins, said police want to speak to the woman captured on CCTV vision about the incident.

"Police are interested in speaking to a female who was seen in the area at the time," he said.

"Police want to speak to anyone who may recognise the female or the car involved."
