Jesse Brown has been improving each week on the two line.
This week he faced top seed Zoe Hood.
Zoe took the first relatively easily 15-9.
Jesse powered back to take the next two 15-12 and 15-9.
Zoe found form to even the score at 2-all with a 15-12 win in the fourth.
Jesse proved too strong in the decider, chasing down everything to win 15-10.
There was an interesting game on Line 3 between Chris McQuie and Tim Piper.
Going into the match both players were undefeated having not dropped a game, with a healthy average of 8.
Chris took the first two games 15-11 and 15-12, before Tim hit his straps in the third, taking it 15-8.
Chris’ good form returned in the fourth to close out the match 15-10.
Jordan Pope and Campbell Earsman played a marathon five set match last week with a total of 136 points contested to find the winner.
Jordan started strong with a 2-0 lead, 15-13 and 17-15.
Campbell evened the scores in the next two games, 15-13 and 15-6.
Campbell was able to continue his comeback to take the match, winning the decider 15-12.
Greg Buckley has returned to his old form with a straight sets win over Ron Jackson.
Greg took the first in a close game 15-13, before finding his rhythm to take the next 15-10.
A ‘short’ call in the third saw luck favour Greg with a 15-14 win.
Team scores were as follows:
Kings 29 defeated K. Nightingales 21; B Nightingales 31 defeated Smarts 19; Kross’ 33 defeated Swindles 17; Poons 37 defeated Williams’ 13.

B Grade
The most entertaining and to a degree dangerous match of the night was between Gary Dukes and Reece Bodium.
Gary looked to start well with a 15-11 win in the first.
Some sliding and diving from Reece saw him take the next easily 15-7.
Gary won the third just as easily 15-6.
A close fourth game saw Reece able to even the scores with a 15-13 win, taking the match to a decider.
Reece was too strong and took the match with a 15-8 win.
John Maddison looked to be in good form, taking the first game over Mel Paradowski, 15-10.
Mel had other ideas, not dropping another game to take the match in four – 15-6, 15-12, 15-9.
Megan Wilcox came up against sub Roisin Feeney in the tightest match of the night.
The first and last games went long, with Roisin the eventual winner three games to two.
Despite the game scoreline, Megan actually scored more points overall 72-68.
Another close match was played between Jordan Cox and Ken Middleton.
The game see-sawed with Jordan up 15-10 in the first, before Ken took the second 15-10.
Jordan was again up after the third 15-10, before Ken returned the favour 15-13 in the fourth.
Jordan maintained the pattern, winning the decider 15-13.
Young Nathan Pye continues to improve each week.
Nathan has gone up a line this comp and is holding his own. He went up against Tim Bell last week.
Tim took the first by a close 15-13 margin.
Nathan bounced back to take the second game 15-12.
A long call and one point gave Tim a 2-1 lead after the third, 17-16.
Tim was able to close out the match 15-6 in the decider.
Team scores were as follows:
Burkes 30 defeated Van der Merwes 20; Collins 35 defeated Pyes 15; Paradowskis 26 defeated Maddisons 24; Popes 30 defeated Baxters 20.
