Over all the matches, 4.5 shots was the average winning margin.
The post-Christmas competition will see the leading team take on the all conquering Birdies at the completion of the competition rounds in the battle to become the Super 6s champion team for 2014/15.
The much-hyped addition of the Cricketers team failed to materialise as they were forced to forfeit their first round match against the IGA All Stars.
The all ladies team, All Sorts, gained the maximum points with a convincing victory over No Names.
They have paid a heavy price though with Dawn Wakefield dropping 3.5 shots off her handicap.
All Sorts won 138.5 to 154.5.
Birdies scored a four shot victory over Big Poles, winning 142.5 to 146.5.
Despite the absence of team captain Allan Jewell, Jewell on the Newell scraped home by just half a shot against International Tigers in their 145 to 145.5 win.
The inconsistent Grip It & Sip It were beaten by Cellar Crows by 4.5 shots, 137.5 to 142.
The highly rated Friday Burglars had a comfortable 143.5 to 151 victory over Railway Rebels.
In the final match, Slice & Dice carved up B.B & Bs to dent their chances of another title with a 151.5 to 154.5 victory.
In the individual competition played in conjunction, Dawn Wakefield walked away with the handicap players best nett score of 28.5.
In the non-handicap players section, Judy Fisher was winner with a solid 33 nett.
Two of the club’s most prominent members Matt Egan and Mitch McGlashan of the Cellar Crows both fired three under par rounds of 32.
Egan will now play-off a plus two handicap while McGlashan dropped from a two handicap to scratch.
Ball winners were 30 Mitch McGlashan, 32.5 Steve Riley and Wayne Tucker, 33 Matt Egan and Troy Thomson, 34.5 Brent Tucker, Peter Dixon, Mark Kelly and Robert Cheney and on 35 was Steve Edmonds.
Round 2 matches are currently being contested and players must have their scorecards in by 7.30pm tonight.
The round sees Big Poles playing International Tigers, All Sorts are playing Birdies in an all ladies affair, Grip It & Sip It are opposed to Jewell on the Newell while Slice & Dice are playing No Names.
Cricketers face up to favourites Cellar Crows , Railway Rebels are playing B.B & Bs and in the final clash, Friday Burglars will find it difficult against IGA All Stars.
The draw for Round 3 which commences this Sunday sees Big Poles take on All Sorts while Grip It & Sip It will like their chances against International Tigers.
Slice & Dice play Birdies and an upset is on the cards.
The clash between Cricketers and Jewell on the Newell should determine their aspirations.
Railway Rebels clash with No Names with the Rebels short favourites.
Friday Burglars will attempt to lower Cellar Crows colours, a task that will be difficult.
Topping off a great round is the clash between IGA All Stars and B.B & Bs.
