“While students and teachers have been away from school during the holiday period, a number of important projects have been completed at schools right across the district,” Mr Gee said.
“Parkes East Public School had repairs and painting carried out in Block F at a total cost of $16,628.
“These maintenance projects make a big difference to the appearance and amenity of our local schools,” Mr Gee said.
“Across the State, the NSW Government has committed almost $3.2 billion to school infrastructure and maintenance.
“In our first term of government 18 new or relocated public schools have been funded and 44 major upgrade projects have been announced.
“The NSW Government has also announced funding for an additional 694 additional permanent classroom spaces, reducing the need for demountables.
“These projects will deliver over 10,084 net additional public school places for schools across the state.”
“The NSW Government is determined to provide the best learning environments possible in our schools,” Mr Gee said.
