Lloyd Jones (55) of Olde Darriwell, Trundle, had entered his docket from Adele’s Salon which was drawn out as the major winner by Lachlan Police Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Brad Blanchard.
“I have been getting my hair cut by Adele for 20-30 years. She used to come out to Trundle, but now I go into Parkes,” he said.
Lloyd was thrilled when contacted about his Christmas bonus.
“I’ve never won anything before, so it is certainly a pleasant surprise,” he said.
“I did win $100 in a scratie about 20 years ago and quickly claimed it before I lost it,” he said.
“This will be very handy indeed. I’ve completed some of the shopping for Christmas but this will enable me to finish things off. A bit of food, drink...everything.
“Julie (his wife) and I celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary next Monday, December 29, so this adds something special to that.
“Our crop too has been fairly good this year, and if we get the rain that is being suggested in the next few days, it will be fantastic.”
Julie (now a part time teacher in Trundle) and Lloyd married in Tamworth (Julie’s home town) - they met while Julie (nee Northey) was teaching here in Parkes at Holy Family School.
They have two children, Mitchell (working with the Red Cross in Sydney) and Hayley (soon to start work with the ACT Government).
Lloyd and Julie are avid Champion Post readers, receiving each edition in the mail - so congratulations to them.
