Member for Orange, Andrew Gee has today welcomed the announcement by NSW Premier Mike Baird of a $20 billion plan to turbocharge infrastructure in NSW to bust congestion, boost productivity and create jobs, including $6 billion for regional NSW.

“Rebuilding NSW is a visionary and fully funded plan that will benefit the Central West and NSW for generations to come through the opportunity to build vital infrastructure,” Mr Gee said.
Local and regional investments will include:
· At least $500 million investment in the Newell Highway – a major freight route between Queensland and Victoria;
· Corridor strategies developed for the Great Western Highway;
· $700 million to expand Bridges for the Bush and Fixing Country Roads;
· $1 billion for the Regional Water Security and Supply Fund to address challenges including drought security;
· $300 million to create a 10-year Regional Schools Renewal Program for upgrades to classrooms;
· $300 million in Rebuilding NSW funds to accelerate delivery of the Regional Multipurpose Health Facilities Program;
· $400 million for Fixing Country Rail to support our primary producers;
· $300 million for Regional Environment and Tourism Program to invest in both environmental and tourism related assets in regional NSW
“The NSW Liberals/Nationals Government is committed to making a real difference in Orange and in our great State,” Mr Gee said.
“This plan is all about ensuring that our regional communities like those in the Orange electorate remain strong and vibrant for generations to come. The plan covers education, health, roads and water security – all key issues for people in country NSW.”
