The Taiko drums are beating to the UNIQLO beat

The grand opening of Japanese fashion brand, UNIQLO, in Sydney CBD's Pitt Street Mall, is another step in the evolution of the precinct from a staid thoroughfare to one of the leading retail promenades in the world. On Thursday, the surrounding streets were beating to the Taiko drum theme, as their doors were flung open to the public making their flagship presence. UNIQLO commented they have expectations of turning over $300,000 sales on day one.
