We’re so proud to bring you the 2014 Parkes & Districts Relay for Life. 

Gates at Northparkes Oval will be open from 12pm tomorrow, with the opening ceremony at 3.45pm, followed by the Survivors and Carers Walk of Honour and afternoon tea at 4pm with thanks to the Quota ladies.

Registration to the event is $20 and includes a Relay t-shirt, a healthy breakfast on Sunday, and all the Melbourne Cup Carnival fun you can handle!

 There will be wonderful entertainment thanks to Amitie and Music and Drama Society and activities for all ages thanks to the awesome teams; a jumping castle, giant garden games, pony rides, colouring-in competition, and the Ford range on show for the car lovers.

Learn about the importance of fruit and vegies and how to pack a healthy lunch box for school-aged children with the Eat It To Beat It Healthy Lunchbox session at 5pm on Saturday. 

Then at 5.30pm, the Relay will play host to the biggest Hobby Horse Race Parkes has seen! 

Sign up on the day for your chance to take the coveted Cup. 

Teams, let your creativeness take hold, we can’t wait to see the stick and sock version of the next Black Caviar.

At 8.30pm, gentlemen it’s time to let your inner diva shine and compete in this year’s Miss Relay Pageant with a Fashions on the Field twist! 

Dust off your fascinator, grab that purple purse, and even shave those pegs - our most impressive contestant who raises the most cash on the day will be crowned.

Dusk will play host to the moving candlelit Hope Ceremony. 

Surrounded by glittering personalised message bags, we take a moment to remember those we have lost.

Hope bags will be available on the day from Team Langlands Hanlon. 

For the rest of evening there will be a movie marathon to keep you entertained all night long! 

Sunday morning we’ll warm up with some more activities and the closing ceremony at 8.30am, before all heading home to a well earned bath and to rest our weary Relay bones.
