“New Acting Tourism Manager” - that headline newsworthy.
“Local couple married 60 years”, again newsworthy and also remarkable.
I didn’t think the story on the ‘Huge cross to be new landmark’ was really front page material.
It’s not the way it was written, it was the subject that I found offensive to my beliefs.
“I certainly have my doubts on this one,” Cr Haddin said, and was supported by Deputy Mayor, Cr Alan Ward.
I would also like to add my support.
The 9-10 churches in this town will be able to see this ‘monstrosity’ - except the church with no windows of course.
All churches seem to worship the same thing, Jesus, the Son of God, and his return.
There are so many unanswered questions.
Has it been 2014 years since this Jesus was last here?
Did we at the time treat him with the respect he deserved?
Did we mistreat or harm him in any way?
If so, would you return back?
If this Jesus was to return on say, 25th December, our Christmas, would he be happy to see a 6.5 metres large cross?
My guess is no!!
I’ll bet he still has bad nightmres about his last cross.
What were you thinking?
