The ‘Mini Fields of Women’ is a display of 100 pink lady silhouettes symbolising the 15,000 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer and the 2,700 Australian women who die from breast cancer each year.
More than 40 community members attended the event to share a cuppa and write messages of support on the 100 pink lady silhouettes in the park.
Local organiser and McGrath Breast Cancer nurse Dianne Green from Parkes, Lachlan Health Service, Western NSW Local Health District, said she appreciated the beautiful weather on the day, the beautiful park grounds and the overwhelming support from her family and the community.
“It would not have been a success without everyone’s support,” Ms Green said.
“There are women fighting breast cancer every day across Australia and it was nice to see members of the community come together in support of these women on this special day,” she said.
Over $350 was raised through merchandise sales and from kind donations.
