Communities across the region will be even more prepared for bush fires as a portion of the 2014-15 NSW State Budget is allocated for new brigade stations and fire trucks.

Local State Member for Dubbo, Troy Grant has announced the latest allocation of funds.
“These will help us provide the highest standard of protection to communities throughout the region in what is set to be a hot season ahead.
“The NSW RFS is committed to ensuring all members have the equipment, resources and support they need to continue their work.
“The construction of new brigade stations will benefit the following communities:
* Parkes Waratah Brigade
* Parkes Mickibri Brigade
* Forbes Jemalong Brigade
* Dubbo Cumboogle Brigade
* Narromine Boogy Plains
“These new facilities will provide volunteers with the latest technology and equipment and allow them to respond to any fire or emergency with confidence,” Mr Grant added.
Six brigades from across the Electorate will benefit from new Fire trucks:
* Forbes Grawlin Brigade
* Forbes Ootha Brigade
* Parkes Bruie Plains Brigade
* Parkes Tullamore Brigade
* Dubbo Cumboogle Brigade
* Narromine Euromedah Brigade
“Thank you to our volunteers who each year help our communities in times of need,” Mr Grant said.
“I urge everyone living in bushfire prone areas to download a free Bush Fire Survival Plan from www.rfs.nsw. gov.au and have a conversation with the family. There are only two pages to fill in and those two pages could save the lives of loved ones.”
