Initially they were looking at $5,000 - but that figure was almost raised in just one night.
And there are more events planned - so much so, that the target is now $10,000.
“We were really lucky to raise just over $4500 on the night of the auction,” UGLY bartender, Kasie Ferguson said.
“A huge thank you to everyone who helped out or enjoyed the evening, and Dooley Thomson for making the night so much fun.
“Glen and Helen from the Leukaemia Foundation also joined us on the night and were very impressed with the support I have received.
“Now onwards and upwards to the $10k mark!”
Kasie said the night after the auction, they had one of their Sydney Invasions and donated $1 from every RAILJAR sold which rounded up to $200!
“Last Friday we held a ladies night which was a beautiful event. Bec Thompson styled the room and it looked amazing!
“Em Pavey and her angelic voice entertained and we made close to $2000.
“We had the La Bella girls handing out samples and beautiful wines being tasted.
“Kim Sheridan paid $500 at the auction to have lunch with Pat Rosser and our butlers Luke (Clarke), Todd (Jayet) and Tex (Brent Timmins) made over $600 in ‘tips’ that went straight in the kitty!”
As part of the fund raising, tonight will be a Halloween party with raffles and the collection of donations.
“$5 fines will go in the kitty to anyone not dressed up but we would love to see everyone in costume as we turn the hotel into a haunted mansion for the night.”
Melbourne Cup will also be a part of the fundraising with donation and raffles tickets.
Fund raising will continue right up until November 14.
“As we are not far off that $10,000 mark now, every little bit helps,” Kasie said.
