The children were put through a warm up with junior coordinator Robert Hey before they experienced the various skills stations that were set up around the practice green and fairway.
The kids had an added treat this week with Melissa Russell, one of the best female golfers west of the Blue Mountains, providing some expert advice and assistance in relation to pitching and putting.
Some of the adult member golfers also paid close attention to those sessions.
With the quality of the kids and their progress, they will now be playing actual holes of golf to bring all of their skills together and to better experience golf.
They look forward to this weekend when they will be let loose on the course.
In a great effort, seven Parkes members assisted last weekend and the enjoyment of the kids is dependent on continued help.
McDonalds voucher winners from last Sunday were – Tom Searl who picked up a golf stick and immediately could hit high and low shots with ease; Tess Barker for great putting; Anouk Labuschagne for great hitting and excellent hand eye coordination; Eben Labuschagne for good hitting with long clubs; Jack Rice for accurate hitting to the targets; Tom Buesnell for a birdie on the short hole golf; and Mark Allen for fantastic improvement.
The club looks forward to seeing everybody again this Sunday from 9.30am until 11.30am with any new kids who couldn’t attend last week very welcome.
