Beth will be leading Council's tourism team as the Acting Tourism Manager for up to a 12 month term.
Beth will be replacing Katrina Dwyer who has been seconded to assist with the Elvis Festival until November when she will go on maternity leave.
Former Parkes Tourism Manager, Kelly Hendry will be returning early next year, but only for a few days a week.
Studying a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Charles Sturt University Bathurst awakened Beth's love for the Central West, so much so that she started her career in nearby Orange as a journalist at 2GZ and Star FM, even before she graduated.
Beth quickly moved up over the span of her career from News Editor in Orange to Chief of Staff in the South West Sydney WIN radio bureau, and most recently to journalist and news reader at Sydney's number one FM radio stations WSFM and KIIS, where she was relied upon to manage a range of staff and coordinate the coverage of visits by talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey and His Royal Highness Prince Charles.
Love has brought Beth back to the region and she couldn't be happier.
"I'm delighted to be back in the Central West and to have been given the opportunity to promote and develop tourism activity in the Parkes Shire<” she said.
“I look forward to delivering some exciting projects over the next year and developing relationships with industry and community stakeholders."
