A four-bedroom family home on a rural block was totally destroyed in the fire.
The home, which had been newly renovated, was unoccupied at the time.
Parkes Fire Brigade were notified of the blaze at approximately 6.45pm and when they arrived at the scene 15 minutes later the home was well ablaze.
It took four hours before firefighters could fully extinguish the flames.
Police immediately established a crime scene pending investigations by Forensic Officers and Fire Brigade investigators.
Tests revealed nothing suspicious with investigators determining the fire to have started in the kitchen/dining room area.
According to police the home and contents were valued at $350,000.

Police are investigating a break and enter to a garage of a home in Welcome Road in which two Stihl brand chainsaws were stolen.
The owner informed police the break-in happened between the period September 14 and 28.
According to police entry was gained through an unlocked roller door.
