Cougars (A Grade) and Knock Knock (D Grade) recorded their first wins of the competition.
Cougars scored a 3-2 win over Hot Trots with two games going long.
They started well with a 21-14 win in the first game before losing the next 21-18.
Cougars won a long third game 23-21 and looked to have run out of steam when they lost the fourth 21-12.
However, they bounced back to win the fifth game 24-22 to break their duck.
Knock Knock’s win was more straight forward as they defeated Oh Deer 4-1.
After a close 22-20 loss in the first game, Knock Knock coasted through the next four - 21-10, 21-8, 21-12, and 21-17.
