The big day will be held on Saturday, October 18.
Last year the Central West Car Club donated $5,600 to Can Assist.
Can Assist also collected a gold coin donation from spectators as they entered and collected over $1,000.
It is only through the support of the businesses and people of this wonderful town that Can Assist received this great boost in just one day, and the Club wishes to thank them all for their great support in the past and again this year.
The Car show itself was the biggest yet, with over 130 entries and the Car of the Day was Clint Kelly’s Torana which has won several awards around the state.
For the first time the Club held a market day to encourage people to come through the gate and thus help Can Assist Parkes Branch to raise more money.
This proved to be a successful venture and the Car Club have expanded the Market Day to include a boot sale this year.
If you would like to book a market spot or boot sale area at the Car Show please contact Jim Davis on 0427 253 796.
Last year they featured vans from the East Coast Vanners Club and Sundowners Club, and the members enjoyed themselves so much that they will be back and bringing more panel vans with them.
So if you missed seeing them last year, you will get the chance to see them this time.
The Show attracts vehicle enthusiasts from around the state and even some from interstate including members of the Aussie Commodores Club Inc, Monaro Owner Drivers and Enthusiasts Club, B Series Ford Club, Orana Elite Ford Club, Riverina Monaro Club, Commodore Club of NSW and the Monaro Car Club of NSW.
As usual there will be a canteen in operation, just in case you get hungry whilst admiring the wonderful vehicles on display.
This year the club celebrates their 60th year and there will be a display of some of the hillclimb vehicles as well as some drag cars, photos and other memorabilia.
Central West Car Club has been an integral part of the Parkes community since it began.
For many years the Club ran a round of the State Hillclimb series at the Golden Bar which brought people from right around the state with some magnificent and fast vehicles.
Along with local Hillclimbs, held around once a month, the Club also held drags along Saleyards Road and many years before that, held Motorkhanas near Harrison Park on the Eugowra Road.
The Club is still looking for more items, photos, videos etc to add to this collection and if you have anything to expand this display, could you please contact the club either by ringing Christine after business hours on 0412 041 563 or via email at centralwestcarclub@gmail.com and letting them know.
