This afternoon of walk-up entertainment gives those performers who are to take part in the festival a golden opportunity to hone their musical skills before the festival action begins.
Should there be any locals who are not regular country performers but wish to take part in the festival competitions, this would be an ideal opportunity to have some performing time on the very stage where the quests will take place.
It can be expected that many walk-up performers will travel from such areas as Forbes, Cowra, Orange and other places to join with Parkes locals to form the musical side of the muster.
Together with a featured performer, this will make for an entertaining four hours of country music.
The August muster was a very enjoyable afternoon with 18 artists performing.
An energetic performance was given by featured artist Darcy Gage of Forbes, and a delightful surprise was the participation of Larry and Wendy Woods from Bunbury, W.A. who had played as Country Horizon in the lounge of the Services Club on the Friday evening.

Meanwhile, following this muster, all attention turns to the 2014 2PK Parkes Country Music Festival which commences on Thursday, October 2, and runs through to the holiday Monday, 6th.
Appearing throughout the festival will be Melissa Bajric.
At just 16 years of age, Melissa Bajric was signed to record on the Drover Music label and that same year she stepped into the studio to work on her first album with renowned producer Lindsay Butler.
Her debut album was released in 2001 and it yielded a variety of best New Talent awards.
In 2003 a second album was released with co-label artists, Bob Easter and Graham Rodger, and in 2006, she released her third album.
When Melissa returned to the studio to record her fourth album, she wanted something special, something that showcased where her music is right now - the result was Diamonds & Wine.
Melissa will be accompanied by her musical director, six times Queensland Musician of the Year, Lindsay Waddington.
Melissa is a Tamworth Songwriter’s Association award winner, she’s been a Top 10 finalist in the People’s Choice National Musicoz Awards and her name has been placed on the Country Music Wall Of Honour in Tamworth.
