Jessica attended Holy Family Primary School from Year 3 after the family moved to Parkes from Sydney.
She then attended Red Bend Catholic College, Forbes for her secondary education before graduating from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Philosophy with Distinction) and a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Health.
Jessica is the second eldest child and eldest daughter of Felicity and Alex Abbey of Parkes.
Aidan is the eldest child of Andrew and Rosemary Wright of Oak Flats, in the Illawarra region just south of Wollongong.
However, as fate would have it, although Jessica and Aidan met while studying at the University of Wollongong, Aidan also has a strong connection with Parkes.
His maternal grandparents, Stan and Kathleen Friend lived at the northern end of Lorking Street for many years, with his mother Rosemary living there until the family left town when she was eight years of age.
The gardens of the old family home will be the backdrop for the wedding photos.
Jessica and Aidan returned to Australia earlier this year after three years of travelling around the world, which included extensive stints working as volunteers in remote communities in Cambodia and Nepal.
After their wedding, Jessica and Aidan will be making their home in Darwin where Aidan will be using his skills as an Environmental Engineer with the Northern Territory Department of Land Resource Management and Jessica will be furthering her legal experience with a local law firm.
Whilst there won’t be a double wedding, Felicity and Alex Abbey’s younger daughter Laura is also busily planning her own wedding to Benjamin Wood at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Orange in early Autumn, 2015.
Laura completed her primary education from Year 2 at Holy Family Primary School after the family moved to Parkes from Sydney.
She then received her secondary education at Red Bend Catholic College, Forbes.
Laura graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (with Honours) in June, 2014.
Ben is the eldest child of Andrew and Jocelyn Wood of Orange.
He is currently in the process of gaining his chartered accounting qualifications, having previously graduated with a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Ben has also volunteered at the Ministry of Finance in Tonga for two years.
Laura and Ben plan to make their home on the Illawarra Coast north of Wollongong after their wedding.
