The new cricket nets and playground equipment at Woodward Oval have been completed and I have to say, I think they look great.
The cricket nets are top quality and will provide a perfect training area for all the local clubs as well as for district sides.
For Parkes to continue to be a cricket powerhouse in the central west, facilities like these nets are a must.
The Parkes sporting community are lucky to have a sports council who are determined to provide quality playing and training facilities.

I was lucky enough to play in the IGA Scratch Shootout out at Parkes Golf Club last Sunday.
The shootout is a unique format where 19 players start on the first hole with the worst score going out on each hole.
It is an exciting day with plenty of banter between all the players as well as some that included administrators.
Parkes Golf Club Captain Paul Thomas ran the day and did a good job yet again.
I went out on the 11th hole and thoroughly enjoyed watching the remaining seven holes.
Days like these cannot go ahead without the support of sponsors which everyone involved in the day really appreciated.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo continues to impress everyone who enjoys Formula 1.
He won his second consecutive race and third in six races last Sunday night local time with a very professional drive in the Belgian Grand Prix.
The race is held at my favourite track, Spa-Francorchamps.
The track follows the natural contours of the mountains in Stavelot.
Mercedes have the dominant car this season and started the race in first and second position.
On the second lap, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg ran into each other causing Rosberg to pit for a new wing and Hamilton having to pit after getting a puncture.
The altercation cost them a probable one-two finish with the hierarchy at Mercedes very upset.
They are in a tough situation where both their drivers are the only realistic chances racing for the World Championship.
A good competitive relationship between Rosberg and Hamilton has slowly deteriorated to the point where one driver is accusing the other of deliberately running into him.
It is a ridiculous accusation as the crash cost both drivers points and could easily have taken them out of the race.
I am very interested to see how Mercedes handle the situation in the upcoming races.
