Former owner, Wally Biles moved the business from Forbes to Parkes last December, with Batty starting with Wally at that time.
Wally has decided to focus on other endeavours, giving Batty the opportunity to take over the business.
The business officially changed hands on July 1.
Batty said Bundaburrah Music has a long history of great service to the central west but now ‘it’s our turn.’
“Not only have we changed the name and plan on expanding the same great services our customers have come to know, we also want to stock what people know and trust,” Batty said.
Now known as Batt’s Music Centre, Batty and Tanya have lots of new and exciting plans in the pipeline.
“We are really looking forward to building the business and serving the central west with all their musical needs,” Batty said.
The couple has rented a huge space above the shop which they are utilising in a number of ways including teaching studios and are building a recording studio.
Michael said the studio will be ready by the end of September.
“We are really excited to provide a studio where customers can come in and record their own tracks, then take them home on their choice of CD or USB,” he said.
Boasting some 100 students enrolling in the last six months to learn to play a myriad of musical instruments, Batty is proud to offer a wider range of teachers to cover the demand.
“Our music students are quickly growing in numbers” he said.
“We now have six music teachers working from Batt’s Music Centre, and each has his or her own studio.”
There is also a large rehearsal space (Jam Area) upstairs available for anyone to use.
“The space can accommodate a large number of performers, whether a school production or a band practice.
“It’s there for anyone to utilise,” Batty said.
Batt’s Music Centre has a five year busker’s licence and regularly hosts great local talent.
“We want to extend an invitation to anyone who wants to come along and set up any time; you are guaranteed to make at least a few dollars!
“We are totally booked out for the Country Music and Elvis Festivals already,” Batty said.
Call into Batt’s Music Centre by the end of August to take advantage of their special storewide discount of 10 per cent off.
