A comprehensive victory over Narromine has consolidated Parkes Boars Colts in fifth position on the Blowes Clothing Cup ladder and secured a semi-final berth tomorrow.

Missing flying winger Dylan Phillips with injury and powerful lock Alec Edwards, the Colts showed their depth may be their strength as they move into a finals campaign.
The Boars attacked from the start while aggressive defence kept the Gorrillas in their own half.
Narromine had no answer for the defensive work of props Jake Elliot and Iszac Oliver.
Jason Lowe proved a menace also, stealing the ball from breakdowns and forcing handling errors with big hits across the ground.
The Boars opened the scoring when James Dean fired a pass from the back of a scrum to hit Blake Smith on the chest.
Smith ran 40 metres, fending off the defence to put the ball down on the wing.
A difficult kick from the sideline scraped the posts to no avail for the boars to lead 5-0.
From the restart, Riley Byrne burst through the pack to get the ball within 10 metres of the Gorrilla’s line.
A clever pass to Campbell Earsman found the big lock over the line only to be held up.
From the ensuing five metre scrum, half back James Dean used the rolling scrum to sneak around the back of the pack and cross the line for the Boars’ second try. The conversion was missed.for 10-0.
The game lifted and with five minutes to go, captain Karl Oliver took the ball within five metres of the line.
Unfortunately a hard stepping Narromine player trod on Karl, resulting in a game-ending leg injury.
Starting the second half with a 10 point lead, the young Boars ran and tackled hard to keep Narromine scoreless.
Riley Byrne extended the Boars advantage when he gathered the ball from a wide pass and sailed across the line to add another try for 15-0.
Matt Clark showed his explosiveness when he ran the length of the field to score under the posts for 20-0.
The Boars were in complete control when a set backline move gave Blake Smith room to gallop 50 metres to score his second and convert his own try for 27-0.
Matt Clark ended the scoring when he received a good pass from James Dean at the back of a scrum to jog through the pack to cross under the posts.
Caleb Hewitt added the extras.
Final score saw Parkes enjoy a 34-0 win which will give them confidence heading into the semi-finals in Bathurst this weekend.
Riley Byrne was awarded Players’ Player and three Best and Fairest points.
Iszac Oliver (2) and Jake Elliott (1) received the other points.
The Colts start their finals campaign against Mudgee Wombats.
The Boars have met the Wombats twice this season and won both times.
However, Sunday’s match is finals football and anything can happen.
The game kicks-off at 12:40pm.
