Franchisee Tony Marsh and his wife Alma could not be more proud.

Tony and Alma have owned Parkes Eagle Boys Pizza shop since October 2010 and currently employee 14 casual staff (kitchen hands and delivery drivers) and one full-time manager.

Originally from Cowra, Tony has an extensive background in the food industry. 

He was a butcher with Woolworths for 12 years, working his way up to Meat Manager for the Cowra and Griffith stores.

Before moving to Parkes, Tony was coordinating community transport for aged care in Auburn. Tony’s sister, Laura was managing Eagle Boys in Cowra for 10 years when the owner decided to sell all three of his franchises, which included Parkes and Warilla.

Tony and Laura decided to become business partners and buy both the Cowra and Parkes stores, with Laura staying in Cowra and Tony moving to Parkes. 

Tony’s business development manager, Cheryl McMillan visits on a monthly basis and conducts a store evaluation on operations.

The store has to meet key performance indicators in areas including increase of sales, food safety and hygiene, pizza making and cutting, customer service, current signage, shop presentation, staff training and appearance etc.

The store must score above 90 per cent to be in the running for a ‘High Five Award’ for three consecutive months.

“It is such a good feeling for Parkes to be recognised out of all the stores. 

“It is great to be acknowledged for high standards and a nice reward for our team to be recognised with this award.

“It’s very satisfying to watch our kids progress from coming in as kitchen hands to moving on to delivery drivers as they get their licence,” he said. 

“We witness them growing up, finish their HSC and move on to university or get full time jobs knowing they have gained some life skills from their Eagle Boys experience.”
