Having enjoyed a brilliant season, the talented Dunn scored two tries and landed seven goals from nine attempts as the Spacemen won easily to consolidate second spot on the table with one round to play.
While Dunn orchestrated a nine tries to two win, Peter White, Duncan Constable, Jake O’Brien and Fred Edwards also played important roles in the win.
With the best part of 30 players on the books, captain-coach Joe Spicer is well placed to play a prominent part in the finals series.
At headquarters last Sunday evening, the composed Spicer urged his charges to remain focused on the month ahead.
He paid tribute to White with “hands of a half back and the speed and agility of a winger” as a key performer in the upcoming finals.
Dunn dominated the opening stages of Sunday’s match, engineering the opening try for a youthful Constable after 130 seconds and then scoring the second himself for 10/0.
The undermanned visitors reduced the margin to 10/4 but the brilliant Dunn put Edwards over and then backed up another White break to put George Wright over for Parkes to lead 22/4 at the break.
Wright also played well and will be a key player in the road to the grand final.
Parkes produced five good tries in the second half to extend the final winning margin to a healthy 42 points.
Dunn stepped and dummied for 28/4.
A White left side break put Marika Korovoi 40 metres for 34/4.
Edwards barged over for 38/4 and then positioned Korovoi for a second before another Edwards break put ageless custodian Nathan Baker over for a popular try.
After five tries in 20 minutes, the visitors scored a late consolation effort, but the Spacemen ran out convincing winners.
Parkes 50 (F. Edwards 2, M. Korovoi 2, N. Baker, G. Wright, D. Constable tries, Dunn 7 goals) def Narromine 8 (J. Healey, M. Woolfe tries).
